Role Purpose
Responsible for overseeing multiple store locations within a region of our retail estate. The primary purpose of this role is to drive operational excellence, maximise sales and profitability, and ensure a consistently high-quality customer experience across all stores in the region. Providing strong leadership and delivers an outstanding people experience for our colleagues, fostering a positive, high-performing, and supportive workplace culture.
Roles & Responsibilities
Multi-Site Retail Leadership:* Manages and supports multiple store locations, bringing significant multi-site or field experience within the retail sector to ensure operational consistency and excellence.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:* Works closely with key functions to drive operational performance, supporting commercial, HR, and finance teams to deliver key strategic initiatives including roster efficiency, and stock management. Acts as the business’s on-the-ground representative, providing actionable feedback and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Financial Performance & KPI Delivery:* Delivers annual profitability targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the assigned group of stores. Ensures robust management of store P&Ls, controlling costs while making strategic investments to sustain and grow the business.
Sales & Margin Delivery:* Achieves annual sales and margin plans by systematically applying the Woodie’s operational model. Drives conversion and average transaction value, while reducing costs across the P&L. Reviews all aspects of store performance with store management, ensuring consistent monitoring and improvement.
Talent Management & Development:* Proactively manages and documents team performance, addresses under-performance, ensures all managers are trained in effective performance management, and leads succession planning for future growth.
Leadership & Coaching:* Drives skills and capability development across the region, builds a high-performance, coaching-led culture, and inspires store managers to achieve business goals.
Stock Loss & Compliance:* Deliver best-in-class stock loss and compliance results by promoting a culture of continuous improvement and providing regular feedback to stores.
Health & Safety:* Ensures a safe environment for colleagues and customers, making Woodie’s a safe place to work and shop.
Business Communication:* Presents business updates to the Operations Director, Leadership Team, and relevant management teams.
Customer Leadership:* Inspires store teams by championing a customer-centric agenda and leads by example to ensure the business is focused on delivering exceptional customer service.
Operational Excellence:* Challenges existing store operations to drive continuous improvement and ensure strategic alignment with Woodie’s customer-focused vision.
Culture & Engagement:* Engages colleagues to foster a progressive, coaching-based culture that supports development and high performance.
