The role of the Space Planning function is an integral part of the Commercial team at Woodie’s. The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of planograms that maximize store sales and profitability.

 

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual seeking experience maximizing sales and profitability through the production of planograms that deliver the business strategy. The Space Planner plays a pivotal role in helping the business to achieve optimum space usage across the relevant product categories through the interpretation and delivery of space and range and maximizing sales and margin opportunities via the management of effective planogram implementation.

 

Our Planograms balance several key rules and principles and are consistently delivered to rigorous standards that are constantly improving.  Our Space Planners have an eye for detail, commercial flair, exacting standards, and are great communicators.

 

The Space Planner will work closely with the Buying, Merchandising, and Operations teams to ensure best in class planograms are released and executed to drive incremental sales to the business.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the commercial teams to prepare planograms that support category plans to achieve budgeted guidelines.
  • Update the store planograms database accurately and optimally.
  • Maintain the Space Planning Product dimension library and ensure product images are kept up to date.
  • Proactively monitor and review planogram performance to produce reports with the aim to maximize space productivity.
  • Stay current with market trends in competitor retailers.
  • Collate and prepare monthly KPI reporting and issue to specific communications to the business.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience in a similar role (or in-store experience)
  • Experience of space planning software for planogram production or planogram implementation
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good analytical skills
  • A proficiency in Microsoft office suite of programs especially Excel
  • The ability to plan and work to deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A passion and curiosity for retailing and understanding of customer habits and buying needs.
  • Previous experience in BlueYonder Space Planning software (or similar) is an advantage.
